DARKEST HOUR - Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora

01. Knife in the Safe Room
02. This Is the Truth
03. Timeless Numbers
04. None of This Is the Truth
05. The Flesh & the Flowers of Death
06. Those Who Survived
07. Another Headless Ruler of the Used
08. Widowed
09. Enter Oblivion
10. The Last of the Monuments
11. In the Name of Us All
12. Beneath It Sleeps

Washington DC's favourite Metalcore band are back with their ninth full length album, and it's every bit as heavy, savage and technical as fans would expect. Some artists in this genre would have changed their sound this far into their career, but Darkest Hour seem to know what they are, and more importantly what their fan base expects of them. Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora is blatantly a 'go to' album for scene kids who were disappointed by the new Suicide Silence record (See review here).

If Metalcore or Melodic Death Metal is your thing, Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora is essential. It's well produced, well written and has some quality playing on it. It reminds me of The Haunted in their early days when they were at their most feral. Aside from the short chilled-out instrumental Widowed, Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora is a relentless assault on the senses, dripping with raw emotion and energy.
